Lottery Draws To Keep Your Eye On

The National Lottery like to keep us excited and entertained with lots of special lottery events, like the Super Jackpot, Millionaire Maker or must win jackpots, all with huge cash prizes! Right here, you’ll find out when these special events happen, so you can play the EuroMillions and not miss out on those extra extraordinary jackpots.

Special Lottery Draws – The Super Jackpot!

The EuroMillions Super Jackpot is a special lottery event that usually takes place 2 or 3 times a year, where the jackpots are guaranteed to be over £100m. This differs from normal jackpots, which only rise each draw if the jackpot hasn’t been won from the draw before.

Super Jackpots are not scheduled ahead of time, but instead quite unexpected & announced at least a few weeks beforehand. But! We at Lotto Social HQ have the lowdown way before, in fact we have the dates of the upcoming Super Jackpot right now!

The next Super Jackpot is expected to take place on Friday 7th June 2019 with a guaranteed jackpot over the £100m mark.

Special Lottery Draws – Must Be Won Jackpots!

The exciting thing about these special events is that the jackpot must be won, once it hits the cap or rollover limit, there’s a massive jackpot up for grabs!

EuroMillions Jackpot Cap

The EuroMillions jackpot is not allowed to exceed €190M (roughly around £160M) – If the EuroMillions draw reaches the jackpot cap, the jackpot will stay at €190M.

Once the jackpot reaches the cap, it can roll a further 4 times before it must be won. Meaning that if the cash prize is not won in the first draw when the cap is reached, the jackpot will stay at the same level of the cap for the next four EuroMillions draws, providing it has not yet been won.

If the jackpot is not won in the fourth EuroMillions draw, the jackpot will then roll down to the next prize category where there will be at least one winner.

This is exciting for two reasons:
1: It increases your chances of winning as you don’t necessarily need an exact match.
2: Any prize fund raised which would have taken the jackpot over the cap will be distributed to the lower prize category.

Lotto Jackpot Cap

The same applies to the Lotto draw, although, the jackpot has the capacity to roll five times. If the draw is not won on the 5th draw, other known as the “Must Be Won” draw, then the cash prize will be distributed to the prize categories as seen in the table below.

The jackpot cap for Lotto is currently set at £22M. Similar to the EuroMillions jackpot cap, if the draw rolls passed the cap, the additional cash prize goes down to the next winning tier.

Prize Categories % Of Jackpot Allocated By Prize Category
Match 5 + Bonus Ball 3%
Match 5 6%
Match 4 17%
Match 3 74%

Must be won jackpots are more likely to be mega jackpots, with huge cash prizes! When there is one, be sure to play the EuroMillions in a lottery syndicate to increase your chances of winning.

Play EuroMillions Millionaire Maker

When you play the EuroMillions, you are automatically entered into the UK Millionaire Maker draw, guaranteeing one lucky player a £1m cash prize, this happens every draw.

EuroMillions Millionaire Maker codes are generated automatically for each line of EuroMillions numbers purchased. These codes consist of 5 numbers & 4 letters. Similar to the lottery, to win, players would need to match all of the characters in the order they are shown.

Friday 1st of March 2019 was the draw which was certainly a special one. 40 players in the UK were crowned millionaires, the first of many special events this year.
